DESCRIPTION
ALGALSORB is a unique bone mineralisation product that combines the natural power of calcified seaweed with Vitamin D, to increase calcium uptake and mineral absorption. It is specially formulated by expert equine nutritionists for weanlings, yearlings and lactating mares.
Algalsorb helps to optimise bone development and strength utilising the natural power of Vitamin D to stimulate calcium uptake and fixation.
The majority of bone mineralisation in foals occurs during the last three months of pregnancy and the first three months of lactation. This is the most important period for supplementation as a lot of mares are unable to access mineral rich pasture at this time of year.
This product has been carefully designed to balance minerals and nutrients required when feeds and forages are replacing constant grazing. The Maerl buffers the stomach so that maximum absorption of the minerals occurs.
This is one of the two key points. Absorption cannot be efficient if the stomach is too acidic which often happens when mares are housed or in open hardcore pens. The Vitamin D present is also proved to increase the uptake.
